This beautiful small plate features a rich black base accented with a delicate spray of purple, creating a striking yet understated finish. Each piece has its own unique expression, making it truly one of a kind.
Made with a clay body blended with coarse particles, the plate has a subtle textured surface with natural variations, while still feeling smooth and pleasant to the touch.
Its compact size is perfect for serving Japanese side dishes, pickles, condiments, sweets, or small appetizers. It also pairs beautifully with larger plates, wooden trays, or bamboo baskets, allowing you to create an elegant and thoughtfully arranged table setting.
Each piece by Coz. (Kozue Otake) is created with the artist's inspiration in mind, making every work truly unique. Her glazes are celebrated for their subtle, layered tones—colors that are difficult to define with a single name, yet possess remarkable depth and beauty. The artist herself has said that although she experimented with many different colors, she eventually realized that her palette had naturally evolved into shades inspired by the traditional colors of Japan.
This is a piece that invites creativity in plating and adds a sense of quiet excitement to every meal.
